ABOUT CENTRE FOR ENVIRONMENTAL LAW, POLICY, EDUCATION & DEVELOPMENT, (CELPED)

The Centre was established in September 2020 with Prof. (Dr.) Yugal Kishore as Director, in accordance with the rules and regulations of The ICFAI University, Dehradun. The essential objective of the Centre is to encourage enviro-legal education and concentrated study in the field of environmental law & justice. The Centre shall be venturing into new projects which will announce the convergence of academia and expert insights on various environmental matters in relation to the future. The Centre aims at supporting research and policy-oriented discussions in the areas of environmental education and development. The Centre will be utilizing the power of law to protect the environment, promote human rights, and ensure a just and sustainable society. It is a research center that will be focusing on research and policy advocacy in the field of environmental law. CELPED is committed to fostering an evidence-based conversation about how to ensure a clean and sustainable environment for a growing India. It is an initiative for the propagation and advancement of legal education and research in the field of Environmental Law.

 

ABOUT ICFAI LAW SCHOOL

The purpose of Virtual Trial Advocacy Competition is to provide an opportunity to law students to participate in this competition in order to improve their skill of research  & pleadings and also learn court room mannerism. This is the best that we can provide to the law student at the time of this pandemic.

The moot proposition is mainly based on Criminal law issue and invokes Criminal law at large.

Greetings, this is to bring to your notice that we at Unity P.G. & Law College are organising our 1st International Virtual Moot Court Competition on 3rd and 4th of October 2020 which is themed on ” Law and Technology”. In the present scenario where the world is hit by a pandemic, It would be an exhilarating  opportunity for the students to channelize their intellect  and bring themselves forward to an interactive yet erudite moot court session.

 

SOME RULES FOR THE EVENT:

Each institution offering an undergraduate LLB degree course is eligible to participate in the same with not more than one team from each institution. The competition shall be held via zoom meetings. The official language of the competition will be english only and the teams shall consist of only two members(speakers).

 

Prizes:

  • Winning Team Award: The winning team will receive a prize worth Rs. 5,000/- (£50.97)
  • Runner Up Team Award: The runners up team will receive a prize worth Rs. 3,000/- (£30.58)
  • Best Mooter shall receive a prize worth Rs.1,500/-. (£15.29)
  • The team with the Best Memorials will receive a prize worth Rs. 1,500/- (£15.29)
  • Our media partner Katcheri shall provide 10 percent off in online courses by KATOG (A unit of KATOG EDU LLP) and 25 percent off in publication fee for all the participants in jlsr journal
  • Certificates for participation will be given to all the participants.

About the Moot

Amity Law School, Amity University, Noida is Organizing 4th Amity National Hindi Moot Court Competition 2020 to be held from March 20th-21st, 2020.

This event is formed with the objective to promote & pioneer the Hindi language, which aims to envisage and hold the traditions and philosophy of law through basic grass-root level in a practical manner.

Eligibility

  • A student pursuing 3 years or 5 years of LL.B. Degree from any recognized Law School/College/University in India/Abroad are eligible to participate.
  • Any recognized Law School/College/University in India/Abroad shall be entitled to send only one team to the competition.
  • Each team shall consist of a minimum of two and a maximum of three members. A team comprises of two speakers and one researcher.
  • Only 40 teams shall be entitled to participate in the competition, subject to the first come first serve basis. A maximum of two teams would be allowed from an institution.

About JCLJ:

Juris Club Law Journal (JCLJ) is a peer-reviewed, academic journal, published online which seeks to provide an interactive forum for generating awareness for broad and dynamic legal and social issues, contributed by jurists, practitioners, law professors and students having immense informative value. The object behind the journal is to bring in the close insights of the various contemporary and current issues of law to the readers. Participation in this journal provides an opportunity for authors for concentrated study in specific areas of the law and enhances their skills in legal research writings and analysis. Important Guidelines

  • Students have to register through a Google form to participate in the Quiz.
  • A sum of fifty rupees will be charged as the registration fees. Payment can be made through Paytm, PhonePe, UPI, and Google Pay.
  • Registrations close on 16th September, 2020.
  • The quiz will be conducted in an Online Mode.
  • The quiz will cover many constitutional aspects like Indian Constitution, Constitutional History, Constitutional Amendments, and many more.
  • Team participation is not allowed.
  • There will be 50 questions and each will be of one mark.
  • If there is a tie, then the winner will be decided on the basis of the time in which they submit their answers.
  • The Quiz will start sharply at 5:00 PM on 18th September, 2020 and be for a duration of 25 minutes.

The results declared would be final and the authority vests with JCLJ to change or modify the same.
